Yesterday I helped to film a concert of The Upsessions, and I would like to share the technical difficulties so other students don't face the same problem. We had 2 Canon 550D's and 2 new gopro's. The show was great but the camera's... well.. both Canon's overheated after 2 hours of filming, they stop recording automatically after a few minutes so you have to stay at their side. The go pro's did great but they can't handle the small amount of light that is used at a concert, but they did stuck it out till the end.
I'm still working on my planets, combining different techniques, the sun for instance is a balloon that I left to 'age' for a week so it would get a bit wrinkly. The clouds are actual clouds that I photographed and worked on in photoshop. The sky are pictures of salt on a painted surface and the planet is a scale model (you can see how it's built in one of my previous posts). Everything will be animated in AFX, so the clouds will move in the wind, the stars will shine, and my spacemonkey will go on an adventure.
Yesterday I filmed for Studio Bellezza and Make-up studio summer make-up look tutorial. The make-up tutorial pictures will be printed in the magazine Beau Monde and the instruction video will be up on their websites. The video will be part of 3 video's, all containing a different summer look. The article will be divided in to nine sections, the first video will appear mid june, when it is online I will also post in on my blog.
When I started the academy, I was quite sure that I wanted to be a painter, until I started doing photography. Then I fell in love with moving images, a medium in which all forms of expression merge together. The thing that has always fascinated me in creating images, is the possibility to express yourself but also to put the world in a different perspective, making it an interesting way to communicate your thoughts and ideas. I want to invite people into my world, for a moment I want them to experience matters from another point of view.
I want to explore, I want to create, I want to learn. I want to find out both my strengths and my weaknesses, and use them to grow as a designer. Where some people are happy creating beautiful work alone in their room, I prefer working in a team. I love how people with different thoughts and ideas can create something beyond their own possibilities and imagination. I enjoy waking up in the morning with an endless amount of ideas and never enough time.
